Monthly Overview:

It may be September, but the heat is still rising for you, as the Sun moves through Virgo, your fifth house of passion, seduction and self-expression, until September 23. Your feisty side is making a comeback—one that started last month, when expansive Jupiter began a 13-month visit to Virgo on August 11. This month (and really, the next year) is all about personal growth in romance, bountiful creativity and maybe babies, as the fifth house rules fertility. Your sign may be one of the zodiac's steadiest, but this month is all about taking risks and showing your more colorful and flamboyant side. Fortune favors the boldest Bulls around during this trek!

Adding to the fiery action, September is a hectic month, with two game-changing eclipses (a Virgo solar eclipse, and an Aries lunar eclipse), communicator Mercury going retrograde (backward), while charming Venus and intense Pluto correct course—finally!—and end their reverse commutes. And if that weren’t enough, diligent Saturn will also change signs and settle into Sagittarius for the next two years.

The action really heats up near the second half of the month, with the first of the two eclipses occurring on September 13. This is a partial solar (new moon) eclipse in a series on the Pisces/Virgo axis that began March 2015. It's the first one of this series to occur in the sign of Virgo, instead of Pisces. This group of eclipses, which will run until 2017, is designed to beef up your sense of personal pride and creativity, and dial down any drama or negative, egocentric behaviors. These eclipses will fall between your (Virgo-ruled) fifth house of fame and passion, and your (Pisces-ruled) eleventh house of collaboration and cool-headed rationalism. The eclipses will aid you in finding the right balance between drama and detachment, romance and friendship.

During this period, outworn alliances may fade and a new “tribe”—one that's in sync with your authentic self—is bound to come into your life. You’ll certainly be tested on when it’s right to keep your circle exclusive and when you need to connect to the larger collective. This is no time to follow the "herd" mentality, though. These eclipses CAN develop your star power as the leader of your pack. Your romantic life could be full of twists and turns, too. Get ready for some thrilling developments in the game of love, starting with this groundbreaking Virgo solar eclipse on the 13th. If you're an artist or creative type, the spotlight could fall on your shoulders mid-month.

However, it won't be all windswept lovers, triumphant gallery openings and long walks on the beach, Taurus. Your love life is going to require maturity and diligence: On September 17, structured Saturn reenters Sagittarius, your eighth house of soul bonding, shared wealth and joint resources. On December 23, 2014, restrictive Saturn moved into Sagittarius for the first time since 1988. It began to bring order to the way you share power, finances and emotions with others, especially intimate partners and heavy-hitting business associates. Since you’ve already had a taste of Saturn’s businesslike ways, you can look back on the first half of 2015, to see what kind of lessons you’ll be learning.

On June 14, Saturn backed into Scorpio and your partnership house for a brief final visit, giving you one last pass at the ins and outs of diplomacy and compromise in relationships. Now, Saturn settles into Sagittarius until December 19, 2017, so get ready to hunker down for the long haul and do some major personal growth work—emotionally, financially and spiritually. Whip-cracking Saturn won't let you take shortcuts. If you want to be successful with intimacy and empire-building, it’s important you maintain your sense of integrity. If you're cutting corners in love or money (especially around debts and fidelity), Saturn will show you where you need to fly straight. It doesn’t sound like a spin around the merry-go-round, but this kind of due diligence can really help you lay a strong and ultimately beneficial foundation. If old fears are blocking you from trusting, opening up and allowing yourself to be vulnerable, Saturn can help you systematically dismantle those with the help of a therapist, mentor or coach.

Brace yourself for some bumpy patches in the second part of the month, as communicator Mercury goes retrograde (backward) in Libra, your analytical and health-focused sixth house, from September 17-October 9. Watch your words and look over any fine print. If you can avoid it, don’t make big commitments or ink any permanent deals—at least, not without triple-checking everything. Since Mercury is reversing through your administrative sixth house, you could experience issues with assistants and helpers flaking out. Disorganization, health breakdowns and increased stress are all perils of this retrograde, so pace yourself. You can’t do it all, so let yourself off the perfectionist hook. Then, focus on reviewing your day-to-day habits and schedule. Before you launch anything new, set up a clear space: Deep clean and declutter. Schedule your doctor's appointments and get a clean bill of health before kicking off a fall fitness program. As Mercury rules communication, you're susceptible to germs spread through the air and via physical contact, so wash your hands regularly and avoid the close talkers.

On September 23, the Sun joins Mercury in Libra for a month, highlighting your sixth house of efficiency, health and organization. The devil is in the details, and there’s no task too small, Bull! With Mercury doing backstrokes in this orderly zone of your chart, your practical efforts may hit some potholes, but having the Sun here will help temper some of the chaos. It’s in your best interest to simply take care of business, regardless of erratic assistants, cancelled meetings, transportation breakdowns or technology issues—the usual Mercury mayhem. Although some of your plans may stall or take longer to get off the ground, you can still make progress, especially if you take care of all those unfinished odds and ends.

This active month ends with a game-changing Aries lunar (full moon) eclipse, which sweeps through your twelfth house of healing and surrender, on September 27. This eclipse series began in October 2013 and has been revamping the ways you balance your spiritual versus material worlds. What does it mean to have your everyday life infused with a sense of transcendence? Or your divine experiences grounded by physical activities, such as eating well and exercising more? Your health has also been in the spotlight of these eclipses, and this one will prompt you to pay attention to your mind-body-soul connection.

At this third and final Aries eclipse, it’s also time to let go. Something in your life—an old relationship, situation or outworn belief—has got to end. It probably feels like a security blanket, but even your comfort-loving sign knows you can’t kid yourself anymore. Being scared to surrender to divine forces isn’t a reason to keep the dead wood lying around…or to allow a toxic person to remain in your life. Listen carefully to the messages of the universe, as signs could be especially strong today. Ground your emotional catharsis in a physical form, e.g. writing a letter to the universe (or a person who “wronged” you) and then burning it, in a symbolic act of letting go. Some old emotions may come up—perhaps there's a loss you haven't grieved or a painful situation you need to fully acknowledge so you can release it. If you're in the clutches of an addictive pattern, this eclipse can aid your recovery. Let go and let grace, Bull.
